Carrot Apple Ginger Juice Tonic

Now that Christmas is out of the way, we can start to concentrate on improving our health for 2016. Our Carrot Apple Ginger Juice Tonic is a great start to what I know is going to be a fabulous year for all of us.

Carrot, Apple and Ginger not only tastes fantastic, it’s also one of the cheapest and healthiest juices you can make. Carrot Apple and Ginger are available all year round and wont cost the Earth as the ingredients are available from most large supermarkets and you can even grow your own!

Steps

1
Done
2

Wash your produce

Take out your Carrots, Apples and your Ginger and thoroughly wash them before leaving them to dry in a colander. At this point I also like to towel dry my Apples with a clean towel to remove any wax that may still be on the skin

3

Peel your produce

If you are using Organic produce you can skip this part.

Peel your apples and remove the core (you'll need to remove the core from Organic Apples also)

Peel your Carrots and remove the tops and tails

Peel your Ginger and cut off any "woody" bits at the ends

Get juicing

First add a Carrot, generally there's some waste on the first piece of produce you put into the juicer so add a Carrot first.

Alternate the Apples, Carrot and Ginger so that they move through the juicer easier and prevent it from clogging.

Add your more expensive produce in the middle of the cycle so you can be sure it's cleared the end of the juicer, you don't want to put your Ginger in last and have most of it stuck inside the juicer.

Pour and Enjoy

You can add ice to your juice if you live in a warm climate but I like to drink mine quickly so as to get the full nutrient value from the juice.

Leaving juice to stand will diminish it's nutrient density
